Custom Bathroom Renovations in Toronto and the GTA
StrongRise Builders specializes in high-end bathroom renovations across Toronto, Vaughan, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, and the GTA, creating spaces that are thoughtfully designed, carefully built, and finished to a level that complements the home. A well-executed bathroom is about far more than tile and fixtures. Behind every finished surface is a carefully coordinated system of plumbing, electrical, ventilation, waterproofing, and preparation that determines how the space will perform for years to come. We plan those details first, then bring together custom vanities, stone, tile, glass, lighting, and premium fixtures to create a bathroom that feels refined, functions beautifully, and is built properly beneath the finishes.

What Goes Into a High-End Bathroom Renovation
A high-end bathroom renovation is only as good as the work behind the finishes. Waterproofing, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, framing, and substrate preparation are carefully coordinated before tile or stone is installed.
Wet areas receive complete waterproofing systems, plumbing and electrical are completed to applicable code requirements, and every surface is properly prepared for the finish it will carry.
Only then do the tile, stone, custom glass, cabinetry, fixtures, and lighting come together. The result is a bathroom that looks refined on the surface because it was built properly underneath.

One Project Manager, From Planning to Completion
Your bathroom renovation is managed by one project manager from the initial consultation through the final walkthrough. Material selections and technical requirements are coordinated early, trades follow a planned sequence, and work behind the walls is reviewed before finishes conceal it. At completion, we walk the space with you and review the cabinetry, tile, stone, glass, fixtures, and final details before the project is closed.
Materials Selected for the Project
We don't design from a predetermined catalogue. Tile and stone are sourced through Canadian distributors and international manufacturers in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and beyond, depending on what best suits the design. Fixtures may include Riobel, Kohler, GROHE, hansgrohe, Duravit, and comparable premium lines, while custom cabinetry can incorporate hardware from Häfele, Blum, and Grass. Selections are made early so the bathroom feels cohesive and material lead times are accounted for before construction begins.

How Long Does a Bathroom Renovation Take?
Most complete bathrooms require approximately 4–6 weeks, while larger custom ensuites typically require 6–8 weeks or more. Specialty materials, structural changes, custom glass, and complex tile installations can extend the schedule.
We don't compress the stages that protect the finished work. Waterproofing, setting materials, and finishes are given the preparation and curing time they require.
How Much Does a Bathroom Renovation Cost in the GTA?
The cost of a bathroom renovation in Toronto and the GTA depends on size, layout, material selections, and the amount of plumbing, electrical, and custom work involved.

Complete Bathroom Renovation | $28,000–$45,000+
Typically includes new tile, vanity and stone countertop, fixtures, lighting, waterproofing, glass, and plumbing and electrical updates.

Custom & Primary Ensuites | $45,000–$60,000+
Larger high-end bathroom renovations may include custom cabinetry, natural stone or premium tile, heated floors, curbless showers, custom glass, freestanding tubs, architectural lighting, and more extensive plumbing or layout changes.
Highly customized primary ensuites can exceed these ranges depending on the size, materials, and complexity of the project. Every renovation is individually scoped, with a detailed written estimate provided following the consultation.
Cabinet, Countertop, and Finish Options
Cabinets and counters drive most of the cost and most of the final look. The right answer depends on layout, finish standard, lead time, and budget. The breakdown below is how we walk clients through it.

1
Stock cabinets / IKEA
Fixed sizes in 3-inch increments, limited finish options, shorter lead times, lower cost. Good for budget refreshes, rental units, and straight-run layouts. Installation requires creative use of filler strips for non-standard wall lengths.
2
Semi-custom cabinets
Factory cabinetry with broader size, finish, door style, and hardware options. Lead times of 6 to 10 weeks. Mid-range pricing. Most GTA renovations land here.
3
Custom cabinets
Built to exact dimensions by a millwork shop. Any door style, any finish, integrated lighting, full-height pantry walls, custom islands, and panel-ready appliances. Lead times of 8 to 14 weeks. Higher cost but full control over fit and finish.
Quartz
Engineered stone with consistent pattern. Non-porous, low maintenance, no sealing. Wide range of looks including marble-pattern options.
Granite
Natural stone with unique veining. Requires sealing every 1 to 2 years. Durable and heat-resistant.
Marble
Natural stone with classic look. Softer than quartz or granite, more prone to staining and etching. Best in lower-traffic kitchens.
Solid surface (Corian and similar)
Joints can be glued and sanded so they are nearly invisible. Repairable, lower cost. Less common in newer GTA kitchens but useful in some layouts.
Butcher block
Warm look, requires oiling, scratches and stains more easily than stone.
Porcelain slab
Thin, large-format, heat and stain resistant. Premium pricing and limited fabricators in Ontario.
Sinks and Faucets
Undermount stainless or composite granite for most modern kitchens. Single bowl is the current standard for usability. Faucets range from standard pull-down to high-end articulating models with separate filtered water taps.
Backsplash Options
Subway tile, large format porcelain, natural stone mosaic, and slab backsplash (counter material extended up the wall). Slab backsplash adds material and template cost but eliminates grout lines and pairs cleanly with waterfall islands.
Flooring
Engineered hardwood, solid hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, and porcelain tile are the four common kitchen floors in the GTA. Choice depends on adjacent rooms, subfloor condition, and whether the home has in-floor heat.
Lighting
A complete kitchen build typically has three layers: ambient (pot lights or ceiling fixtures), task (undercabinet LED strips), and accent (pendant lights over the island or peninsula).
