Why GTA Homeowners Work With StrongRise Builders
Kitchens are the most coordinated room in a home. Cabinets, counters, plumbing, electrical, ducting, flooring, and finish carpentry all have to land in the right order, and one missed dimension at rough-in shows up six weeks later when the counters template wrong. We run kitchen projects with the same documentation and trade coordination on a $30,000 refresh as on a $150,000 custom build.
One project manager from site visit through final walkthrough
Written scope of work and detailed estimate before any demolition starts
Direct coordination between cabinetmaker, plumber, electrician, tiler, and counter fabricator so rough-ins match the cabinet shop drawings
Site protection of adjacent floors, stairs, and entry points during demolition
Subcontractors we have worked with for years, not random trades booked off a platform
WSIB coverage, $5M liability insurance, and a 5-year workmanship warranty in writing
Construction Engineering Technology background and IICRC restoration training, so structural and water-related issues found mid-demo are handled correctly, not patched over
A Complete GTA Kitchen Approach: From Rough-ins to Finishes
A kitchen is only as good as the work behind the walls. You have one dedicated project manager from the initial consultation through to the final walkthrough, giving you a single point of contact throughout your kitchen renovation. We manage the entire infrastructure of the project, focusing on the mechanical systems that ensure long-term performance. This includes updating plumbing supply lines, relocating drains, and ensuring electrical circuits meet modern loads for high-end appliances. We handle the sequencing of trades so that structural changes and rough-ins are inspected and approved before any finishes are applied.

A Considered Approach to Every Kitchen Renovation
Every kitchen renovation we undertake follows a carefully planned sequence, from initial design and material selections through construction and final installation. Each stage is coordinated before work begins to protect the schedule, maintain control over the details, and ensure the level of finish expected from a high-end kitchen renovation. The result is a more organized process, fewer compromises during construction, and a kitchen delivered as it was intended to be.
01
Consultation, Design & Selections
We begin in your home to understand the space, establish the layout, and discuss the scope, investment, and timeline. Custom cabinetry, stone, flooring, fixtures, appliances, hardware, and finishes are selected and documented before construction.
03
Demolition, Structure & Rough-Ins
Once the kitchen is opened, framing and structural changes are completed first, followed by coordinated electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and ventilation rough-ins. Concealed conditions are addressed before the space is closed.
05
Stone, Tile & Final Installation
Countertops are templated to the installed cabinetry, followed by backsplash, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, appliances, trim, and final finishes.
02
Planning, Permits & Site Preparation
Structural requirements, permits, engineering, material lead times, and trade scheduling are addressed in advance. Before demolition, surrounding floors and finished areas are carefully protected.
04
Preparation, Flooring & Cabinetry
Walls and ceilings are finished and prepared before flooring and custom cabinetry are installed. Cabinetry is carefully levelled, fitted, and detailed around the individual conditions of the home.
06
Finishing & Final Walkthrough
Paint, caulking, finish carpentry, adjustments, and touch-ups complete the space. We then walk the finished kitchen with you, address any remaining details, and close out the project.

Designed for Your Home. Built Around the Way You Live
A truly custom kitchen should feel like it was always meant to be part of the home. At StrongRise Builders, our high-end kitchen renovations across the GTA begin with the architecture of the space, how you use it, and the level of finish you want to achieve. Layouts, custom cabinetry, appliances, lighting, stone, and finishes are planned together so every element feels intentional.
That attention continues through construction. Cabinetry is fitted precisely to the home, appliances and mechanical requirements are coordinated before installation, and details such as stone placement, lighting, hardware, clearances, and transitions are considered before they reach the job site.
The result is more than a beautiful kitchen. It is a custom kitchen renovation that functions naturally, feels connected to the rest of the home, and is built with the materials and craftsmanship to remain that way for years to come.
How Much Does a Kitchen Renovation Cost in the GTA?
The cost of a kitchen renovation in the GTA depends on the size of the space, cabinetry, materials, structural changes, appliances, and level of customization. For a complete renovation, homeowners should typically plan for an investment starting around $45,000, with custom and larger-scale kitchens often ranging from $70,000 to $150,000+.

Full Kitchen Renovation | $45,000–$70,000+
A complete renovation with semi-custom or upgraded cabinetry, quartz or stone countertops, flooring, backsplash, lighting, electrical and plumbing updates, and modifications to the existing layout.

Custom Kitchen Renovation | $70,000–$100,000+
Designed around the home with custom cabinetry, premium stone or porcelain surfaces, integrated appliances, upgraded lighting, plumbing relocations, architectural details, and more extensive layout changes.

High-End & Large-Scale Kitchens | $100,000–$150,000+
For larger homes and highly customized spaces involving architectural or structural changes, bespoke millwork, natural stone, premium fixtures, integrated appliances, specialty lighting, and extensive finish carpentry.
Cabinet, Countertop, and Finish Options
Cabinets and counters drive most of the cost and most of the final look. The right answer depends on layout, finish standard, lead time, and budget. The breakdown below is how we walk clients through it.

1
Stock cabinets / IKEA
Fixed sizes in 3-inch increments, limited finish options, shorter lead times, lower cost. Good for budget refreshes, rental units, and straight-run layouts. Installation requires creative use of filler strips for non-standard wall lengths.
2
Semi-custom cabinets
Factory cabinetry with broader size, finish, door style, and hardware options. Lead times of 6 to 10 weeks. Mid-range pricing. Most GTA renovations land here.
3
Custom cabinets
Built to exact dimensions by a millwork shop. Any door style, any finish, integrated lighting, full-height pantry walls, custom islands, and panel-ready appliances. Lead times of 8 to 14 weeks. Higher cost but full control over fit and finish.
Quartz
Engineered stone with consistent pattern. Non-porous, low maintenance, no sealing. Wide range of looks including marble-pattern options.
Granite
Natural stone with unique veining. Requires sealing every 1 to 2 years. Durable and heat-resistant.
Marble
Natural stone with classic look. Softer than quartz or granite, more prone to staining and etching. Best in lower-traffic kitchens.
Solid surface (Corian and similar)
Joints can be glued and sanded so they are nearly invisible. Repairable, lower cost. Less common in newer GTA kitchens but useful in some layouts.
Butcher block
Warm look, requires oiling, scratches and stains more easily than stone.
Porcelain slab
Thin, large-format, heat and stain resistant. Premium pricing and limited fabricators in Ontario.
Sinks and Faucets
Undermount stainless or composite granite for most modern kitchens. Single bowl is the current standard for usability. Faucets range from standard pull-down to high-end articulating models with separate filtered water taps.
Backsplash Options
Subway tile, large format porcelain, natural stone mosaic, and slab backsplash (counter material extended up the wall). Slab backsplash adds material and template cost but eliminates grout lines and pairs cleanly with waterfall islands.
Flooring
Engineered hardwood, solid hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, and porcelain tile are the four common kitchen floors in the GTA. Choice depends on adjacent rooms, subfloor condition, and whether the home has in-floor heat.
Lighting
A complete kitchen build typically has three layers: ambient (pot lights or ceiling fixtures), task (undercabinet LED strips), and accent (pendant lights over the island or peninsula).
Choosing the Right Kitchen Layout
The right kitchen layout should feel natural to the home, not imposed on it. Across the GTA, we redesign kitchens around how the space connects to surrounding living areas, how the family uses it, and what the architecture allows. Whether refining the existing footprint or creating a more open layout, every decision considers proportion, sightlines, storage, appliance placement, and flow before construction begins.
