Our Renovation Process | From First Call to Final Walkthrough

A well executed renovation starts long before construction begins. It starts with a clear process, careful planning, and the right team behind it.

Most renovation problems come from poor planning, not poor work. Timelines slip because scope was not clearly defined. Costs change because decisions were left for the site. Communication breaks down because no one was assigned to keep the homeowner informed.

We plan each project carefully so the build feels organized from the start, not reactive as the work unfolds. Below is a step-by-step look at how StrongRise Builders manages every renovation, from the first conversation to the final touch up.

Free Consultation

Every project starts with a conversation. We come to your home, walk through the space, and listen to what you are trying to accomplish.

No presentations, no pressure. We want to understand the scope, the timeline, any concerns you have, and whether the project is realistic for your situation.

If we are a good fit, we move forward with a detailed site assessment. If we are not the right company for your project, we will tell you that honestly.

Site Assessment and Detailed Estimate

After the consultation, we begin to measure, assess site conditions, and gather everything we need to price the project accurately. We aim to deliver a detailed written estimate within 96 hours.

Our estimates are organized by room and phase so you can see exactly what is being done and where your money is going. We do not price projects loosely and adjust later. If something is unclear during the assessment, we flag it before the estimate is written, not after the contract is signed.

Scope Review and Contract

Once you have reviewed the estimate, we walk through it with you in detail. This is where we confirm the scope, answer questions about materials and finishes, discuss the payment structure, and agree on a timeline.

We want you to feel completely clear on what the contract covers before you sign it. Change orders happen when scope changes, not because we missed something in the estimate.

Pre-Construction Planning

This step happens before a single wall comes down. We coordinate permit applications where required, confirm material lead times, schedule in the correct sequence, and work through your finish selections so that decisions are made before they are needed on site.

Good sequencing is one of the most underestimated parts of a renovation. When trades are scheduled in the right order and materials are confirmed ahead of time, the build runs smoothly.

We handle the coordination. You make the selections. Construction does not begin until the plan is solid.

Construction phase

With the plan confirmed and permits in place, construction begins in the correct sequence.

Throughout the build, we keep you updated on progress and flag anything that needs your input before it affects the schedule. You should never have to chase us for a status update. If something unexpected comes up during construction, we communicate it directly and honestly before work continues.

We treat your home with the same care we would want someone to treat ours. Work areas are kept as clean and contained as possible throughout the project.

Final walk through

Before we consider a project complete, we walk through the finished space with you in person. We go through every element of the scope and confirm that the work matches what was agreed upon.

If anything needs to be adjusted, addressed, or touched up, it is handled before handover. We do not close out a project and disappear. The final walkthrough is our opportunity to make sure you are genuinely satisfied with the result before we sign off.

Handover and Warranty

Once the walkthrough is complete and you are satisfied with the work, we formally hand over the space. All documentation, warranty information, and any relevant care instructions are provided at this stage.

StrongRise Builders backs its work with a 5-year workmanship warranty. If something related to our work is not right within that period, we address it. That commitment does not end when we hand you the keys.

Working Through an Insurance Claim?

If your home has been affected by water, fire, or another loss event, the renovation process looks different from the start. Our team is IICRC certified and experienced in insurance restoration, and we manage the process differently for claim-related projects.

We coordinate directly with adjusters, document scope and damages properly, and advocate for our clients through the rebuild. You are dealing with enough. We handle the complexity of the claim side so you can focus on getting your home back.
